FAA Aviation Medical Examiner for 2nd and 3rd class medical examination of Pilots and non-FAA Air Traffic Controllers.
Dr. Florkowski is an Instrument Rated Pilot who presently flies a Bellanca Super Viking and is very active in the local aviation community. His passion for flying mixed with his career as a physician led him to pursue designation as a FAA Medical Examiner. Dr. Florkowski specializes in vision issues for pilots and has spoken extensively on the subject. Because of this focus alternative color testing such as Farnsworth lantern testing is available at our office for pilots who require a more extensive color vision evaluation!
Please note we do not participate in the Basicmed program. We issue 2nd and 3rd class FAA medical certificates for pilots and non FAA controllers.
Any applicant with a previous special issuance should bring their special issuance paperwork with them to the examination.
The cost of the examination is $125. The fee for Farnsworth lantern testing only is $50. Cash, check, and credit card are accepted. Please note that insurance does not cover an FAA medical examination.
All applicants should login to the FAA MedXpress program and complete the application prior to coming to the clinic. Go to their website - https://medxpress.faa.gov/medxpress/
Please bring your confirmation number with you to the examination. To save time we suggest you FAX your completed MedXpress application to our office at 913-273-1210 or email it to drf@sharpervisionks.com so it may be reviewed prior to the visit.
